How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying
Music & Lyrics by Frank Loesser
Book by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert. Based on story by Shepherd Mead.
A big brassy broadway musical condensed to fit the intimate 200 seat Southwark Playhouse. To look at the show's depiction of corporate greed and navigate the very 1960's gender politics, we opened our casting bracket up to anyone who had the right energy for their roles. This allowed us to free people up from playing their usual types, as well as allowing a contemporary audience to see clearly that the show was presenting behaviour of the past in a satirical way, rather than at all endorsing it.,
